As soon as you start to pursue a dream, your life wakes up and everything has meaning.”- Barbara Sher

Early Spring

It’s early spring,
with a full moon that glows,
dancing on gentle ebbs,
in a land which you know.

We lay curled up,
in a blanket by the fire.
The night is brisk,
and I feel your desire.

It has been months,
in waiting for this day.
As you pull me closer,
I’m nervous; this, I can say.

And, you whisper “I love you”,
as tears, quickly appear,
because darling; you’re more,
you're the sunrise in my soul; dear.

You’re tenderness is deliberately slow,
As emotions swell; I can hardly breathe,
for it’s the first time; as you know,
a fruition in love; we admittedly seized.

Time has no dominion over love. Love is the one thing that transcends time. (Bones)”― Jeaniene Frost, One Foot in the Grave.

The photography is a brilliant sunset titled "Sunset Flight" by Stuart Media Services and it is the inspiration to this poem titled "The Edge of Nowhere". To me, this photograph captures "time" beautifully. It is this instance, this moment, evoking emotions in surreal euphoria, as if the world were far below your feet. It's the quiet, sometimes stormy place, where spirits and their love reside.

The Edge of Nowhere

Standing on the edge of nowhere without acclaim,
watching light crawl past dusk; an assaults’ claim,
emotionless, faceless, without thoughts, just a sphere,
wind, wraps the body, pressing limbs; fostering fear.

I drink the suns’ warmth as it climbs down in evening hues,
stretching arms, parallel, tip to tip; minding, as loons flew,
a storm moves quickly across the abyss to where I reside,
then it hits my mind; almost toppling me over to one side.

I reach, grabbing dark clouds above; its balance they send,
and your hands steady my hold; as love quietly transcends.

Marvin Gaye's “Sexual Healing” #Adventure #Fresh #MakeLove #MUSICVIDEO #DianaMary Sharpton

“NO. No no no. I don't want to screw you. I just love you. When did who you want to screw become the whole game? Since when is the person you want to screw the only person you get to love? It's so stupid, Tiny! I mean, Jesus, who even gives a fuck about sex?! People act like it's the most important thing humans do, but come on. How can our sentient fucking lives revolve around something slugs can do. I mean, who you want to screw and whether you screw them? Those are important questions, I guess. But they're not that important. You know what's important? Who would you die for? Who do you wake up at five forty-five in the morning for even though you don't even know why he needs you? Whose drunken nose would you pick?!”

― John Green

The quote by John Green is on point yet off square. Why because sex, sexuality, chemistry, touch and all that racket is what makes the world go around. It is vital not important in keeping a relationship nourished, fresh, responsive, interesting, adventurous and I could go on and on however I know you get my drift.

So when people reference Tim Fargo’s trite sentiment “Chemistry is great, but eventually your relationship moves out of the laboratory.”, it tells me a couple of things. It’s a possibility they just like quotes. Maybe they did not take the time to read and/or understand the massive limitations in the statement be it about chemistry/relationships between two individuals or the fact that the quote seems to be missing part of the argument. For example: “Chemistry is great, but eventually your relationship moves out of the laboratory and will need ingenuity.

Strictly an opinion: John Green's quote makes an excellent point about love; however the argument should not dismiss the importance of sex or chemistry. These are the building blocks and cement of a lasting relationship to begin with. Chemistry happens and one must feed it over time to keep it alive. Yes it takes two and this is how one gets to that point where giving one's life for love is the right thing to do.

It's a Sunday evening and I am reaching for a slow sexy groove tonight. Ahhh! Marvin Gaye, from, Washington D. C., USA and the song, which is a R&B genre is titled “Sexual Healing(2).

The video was uploaded on YOUTUBE, Dec 6, 2013 by MarvinGayeVEVO.

I am listing the lyrics below for your reading pleasure.

"Sexual Healing"(3)
Get up, get up, get up, get up!
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up!

Oh, baby now let's get down tonight

Ooh baby, I'm hot just like an oven
I need some lovin'
And baby, I can't hold it much longer
It's getting stronger and stronger

And when I get that feeling
I want sexual healing
Sexual healing, oh baby
Makes me feel so fine

Helps to relieve my mind
Sexual healing baby, is good for me
Sexual healing is something that's good for me

Whenever blue teardrops are fallin'
And my emotional stability is leaving me
There is something I can do
I can get on the telephone and call you up baby

And honey I know you'll be there to relieve me
The love you give to me will free me
If you don't know the thing you're dealing
Ohh I can tell you, darling, that it's sexual healing

Get up, get up, get up, get up
Let's make love tonight
Wake up, wake up, wake up, wake up
'Cause you do it right

Baby, I got sick this mornin'
A sea was stormin' inside of me
Baby, I think I'm capsizin'
The waves are risin' and risin'

And when I get that feeling
I want sexual healing
Sexual healing is good for me
Makes me feel so fine, it's such a rush
Helps to relieve the mind, and it's good for us

Sexual healing, baby, it's good for me
Sexual healing is something that's good for me
Well, it's good for me and it's so good to me my baby, ohh

Come take control, just grab a hold
Of my body and mind, soon we'll be making it, honey
I'll be feeling fine,
You're my medicine, open up and let me in
Darling, you're so great, I can't wait for you to operate

I can't wait for you to operate

When I get this feeling
I need sexual healing
Oh when I get this feeling
I need sexual healing
I gotta have sexual healing, darling
'Cause I'm all alone
Sexual healing, darling
Till you come back home

Please don't procrastinate

It's not good to masturbate

Thank you for your continued support. I pray you are having a blessed evening or morning. Remember music is a language and these are my thoughts tonight.

Peace and Love Always Diana

"I Want It" #POETRY #PASSION #DESIRE w/Diana Krall - "I've Got You Under My Skin" #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

My mission in life is not merely to survive, but to thrive; and to do so with some passion, some compassion, some humor, and some style”. ~ Maya Angelou

I Want It

Your hardness ruptures under taut jeans, I sense it,
Your scent is masculine yet clean, I smell it,
Your voice and smile sends tingles down deep, within, I ignore it,
Your fingers reach gently to touch my hair, I shake it,
Your hands grab my arm pulling me closer, it’s in your stare, I resist it,
Your warm breath bounces against my ear, I feel it,
Your wet lips gradually brush against mine, with fear I taste it,
Your tongue searches for mine, I no longer can bear it,
Your whisper is a quiet “I Love You”, I believe it,
Your body’s aroused, pushing against mine, now I want it.

Woman wading in water at sunrise ~ Photography by Koren Albright/Albright Creative Imagery
“Silence is a true friend who never betrays”. Confucius

She's with Me

Melancholy; as she sits at the river’s edge,
quietly watching water cutting a wedge,
in the mountainous terrain that it's fed.

I remember her telling me; “silence sets me free”,
as I sat beside her, I keep thinking “how can that be”!
There’re birds singing, water roaring; it’s loud in this valley.

I think…
She was talking about her eternal soul;
I am not sure; today she seems distant and cold,
wading in cool water as if she were alone.

And then…
She looks straight at me with a beautiful warm smile,
and my heart flips inside out; there’s no denial,
introspectively I can see; she not alone she’s with me.

The morning sun reflects in the distant horizon,
and vapor rises; it's silent yet filled with sound,
I grab her hand and let our love resound.

"Face-On" #POETRY #PTSD #EMOTIONALPAIN #Love4U Aretha Franklin - A Change Is Gonna Come #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

Real love is always chaotic. You lose control; you lose perspective. You lose the ability to protect yourself. The greater the love, the greater the chaos. It’s a given and that’s the secret.”
― Jonathan Carroll

I published this poem in the late fall of 2013. It is based on emotional pain which I for some reason could feel and see in a dear friend of mine due to PTSD. I suspect it’s because I too suffer from some form of this disorder as a result of violence. It is a devastating and debilitating condition.

The only thing that can save people with this condition is loyalty, love, kindness, understanding and a huge amount of patients. It's about them, not about you, keep this in mind when you heart breaks a thousand times. Being afflicted, I know it is hard to trust love irrespective to the level it is offered. Mainly it is hard to trust being loved because then you have to return love. This is a risk to additional pain, so one builds up walls and so soon one is in a deep dark hole. It is safe there. Is this an excuse...? No, it's just safe and easy.

All I can say is let the hand that is reaching out grab a strong hold. Someone is actually trying to help you! Acceptance; this is actually the first step in allowing yourself permission to feel. Unfortunately, I honestly think that the holes' safety is the most difficult part of this whole battle and must be recognized as such by everyone involved. Why leave when this place never disappoints you? Never causes confusion or emotional changes? One has to learn to trust in love, again and pain, confusion and emotion drama is part of this process. You have to face it head on! That is the reality.

The title of the poem is “Face-On”. I am republishing upon request.

I slam; face-on, into moments laden on a white wall,
Bits of me splatter in earthen spring, the painter’s call.
Is it night or day? I can’t speak, stand or even crawl,
As light pricks blind slants in peeks; lint shakily falls.

It’s the sound of a heart that breaks, upon “real” sight,
a thunderous clap as loons ascend water at first flight.
Then a darken reality enters a mind; it takes hold,
lost in a thicken mist, chilled, wet, wintery to the bone.

Yesterday is gone at the flash of all that’s bright,
tomorrow's view hidden; slowly, I'm losing control in this fight.
Yet, inexplicably time stops this free “bleed”; instinct takes claim,
stitching a cursed, exhausted soul which now feels shame.

I am adding some soul that speaks to this situation and to my heart. The artist is the brilliant Aretha Franklin with her amazing hit "A Change Is Gonna Come"(2). The song was published on YouTube Dec 26, 2010 by jackemlyn062.

I have list the lyrics for your reading pleasure, below.

"A Change Is Gonna Come"(3)
"A Change Is Gonna Come"
(originally by Sam Cooke)

There's an old friend that I once heard say
Somethin' that touched my heart, and it began this way:

I was born by the river, in a little tent;
And just like the river, I've been runnin' every since...
He said, "It's been a long time comin', but I know my change is gonna come..."
Oh, yeah...

He said, "It's been too hard livin', but I'm afraid to die;
I might not be if I knew what was up there beyond the sky...
It's been a long, a long time comin', but I know my change has got to come..."
Oh, yeah...

I went... I went to my brother
And I asked him, "Brother, could you help me, please?"
He said, "Good sister, I'd like to, but I'm not able..."
And when I, when I looked around, I was right back down, down on my bended knees,
Yes, I was! Oh!

There've been times that I thought... I thought that I wouldn't last for long,
But somehow, right now, I believe that I'm able, I'm able to carry on...
I tell you that it's been a long... and, oh, it's been an uphill journey all the way,
But I know, I know, I know, I know my change is gonna come...

Sometimes, I've had to cry all night long - yes, I did;
Sometimes, I had to give up right for what I knew was wrong...
Yeah, it's been an uphill journey!
It's sure been a long way comin'... yes, it has...
It's been real hard every step of the way,
But I believe, I believe, this evenin', my change has come...
Yeah! I tell you that my change has come

Love and Peace always ~D

Bob Seger’s "It’s You” #MUSICVIDEO #ROCKNROLL #DianaMarySharpton

Crystal Renn
How do you know if something is real? That’s easy. Does it change you? Does it form you? Does it give you wings? Does it give you roots? Does it make you look back at a month ago and say, “I am a whole different person right now”? If yes, then it’s real. The evidence of truth and reality, lies in how much something can touch you, can change you, even if it’s from very far away. Distance is only the evidence of what can be surpassed.”

~ C. JoyBell C.

"There is nothing more intimate than the touch of your soul."
~ Diana Mary Sharpton

It’s Saturday evening and I still in love with Bob Seger’s music: A brilliant singer-songwriter from Lincoln Park, Michigan, USA with a god given gift as a Rock ‘N Roll musician (vocals, guitar and piano). His music moves my soul or at least this track does LOL!. The song featured tonight is the eighth track in Bob Seger’s thirteenth studio album, released in 1986 titled “Like a Rock”. This is the first studio album credited to "Bob Seger & the Silver Bullet Band" that doesn't feature the Muscle Shoals Rhythm Section replacing the Silver Bullet Band on any tracks.

The featured track is titled "It’s You”(2) and it is a classic Rock genre. I have added the lyrics for those, like me, that love to know what the song’s message is.

It is all just perfect and right! The video was uploaded on YOUTUBE, May 28, 2014 by BobSegerChannel.

"It's You" (3)
Just about the time I think I've had it
Everything I've planned has fallen through
Just about the time the whole thing's crumblin' in
And I can't hold back no matter what I do
And just about the time I feel like screamin'
And findin' me a wall to punch right through
I look up and I just can't help smilin'
It's you

You're the only reason I'm still here, girl
You're the only one who keeps me sane
Somethin' `bout the way you've learned to calm me down
And see me through the anger and the pain
And just about the time I'm standin' on the edge
And searchin' for a light to see me through
I look up and I can see it shinin'
It's you

I don't really claim to understand it
I just know the way you make me feel
No one has to tell me I'm a lucky man
No one has to tell me that it's real

And just about the time I think I've lost it
I'm lookin' for a hole to crawl into
I look up and I just can't believe it
It's you
It's you

I look up
And honey, it's you
Gettin' me through
Keepin' it new

Thank you for your continued support. I pray you are having a blessed evening or morning. Remember, music is a language and these are my thoughts tonight.

"Going Home" #POERTY #LOVE #DEVOTION #RESPECT w/Shelby Lynne "I Only Want To Be With You" #Musicvideo #DianaMarySharpton

“Unconditional love really exists in each of us. It is part of our deep inner being. It is not so much an active emotion as a state of being. It's not 'I love you' for this or that reason, not 'I love you if you love me.' It's love for no reason, love without an object.”  ~ Ram Dass

I originally published this poem back in the early fall of 2013. It was written in dedication of the love my father had for my mother, something I could never understand until now. The details have been intentionally exaggerated fiction in an effort to make my point; however the truth was in his unyielding selfless devotions to her that I speak to in this piece. As a result of living with this relationship, I believe that "Unconditional Love" deserves respect and should be cherish by both parties. It is a gift that few people will ever have the privilege of encountering.

My final thought: No one could understand my father and mothers relationship. He stood strong for her and that I can say. When he died my mother realized in a painful way what she had lost. Don't wait until someone is gone to show appreciation and love to that special person in you life. They probably have been waiting for this attention a long time.

Going Home
A rainy mist hovers over ground about a dozen feet or so
Droplets pronounce sound on leaves... then fall below
Wet earth pungency with a slight hint of wild rose
Overwhelms sensations and tickling his nose

Riding a mule, narrow hooves step gingerly over constricted terrain
As fog thickens, eerie quiet echoes a distant shrill, a startled owl fly’s away
He pulls out a filtered Raleigh deliberately and lights it,
taking in a deep draw, shrugs his shoulders to a particular reality, regardless of it’s fit.

Mesmerize in his reflection, cherishing this solitude, right or wrong,
it is simplicity’s freedom or just mere token to his slow song.
The mule followed the track as countless times before,
in a downward trod together, they rode as rain began to pour.

An abrupt decline to a steamy basin,
that’s riddled with snakes and violence of all means.
He was not impressed or dissuaded by trepidation,
instead he maintained a stern focus sharp and keen.

No sirens sing, worship of life or even death, fazed him in the tiniest way,
it’s just a morning expedition wet with rain; at the corner of the break of day.
He’s going home after all to a beauty with eyes’ of deep blue sometimes gray.
She’s 5’5’’ to his 6’2’; she’s his soul and maybe more. Who can really say!

No one expects him this early, you see,
she’ll be surprised and perhaps pleased.
His heart pounds with anticipation to her caress,
and those eyes his soul’s driven to possess.

A stranger’s car’s parked in front where he took pause,
walked the mule towards the stables, perplexed yet resolved.
He is a man in love, it must be,
because the truth about him, her and all three, impossible to see.

So he strays away to the rock fence where he stands,
with a detached soul; pockets filled with lost hands.
The sun rises, breaking the fog, as an engine roars in the distance and disappears,
and in a quiet manner, he turns to go home this time, for sure as it appears.
