An Apology #POETRY #LOVE & Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere" #MUSICVIDEO

Love is a decision, it is a judgment, it is a promise. If love were only a feeling, there would be no basis for the promise to love each other forever. A feeling comes and it may go. How can I judge that it will stay forever, when my act does not involve judgment and decision?
― Erich Fromm, The Art of Loving

An Apology
I think about you most of the hours in a day,
and in fairness it’s complicated what I’m trying to convey.
It’s not about some sexual thing,
or mind blowing tawdry fling.
Don’t get me wrong; that too is on my mind,
it’s just more to it than some doughtily chime.

It’s about conversations with hello’s or goodbye’s,
and sharing events affecting our lives.
It’s about your unsolicited world view,
likes or dislikes that hold you true,
and it’s the emotions that draw you in,
as the sun sets and twilight begins.
It’s about what’s inside that gives you pride,
and the color, at night, that lights up your eyes.

I know you’ve asked that I inscribe what I feel,
I guess, first, I wish for love, which is real,
a decision, a promise or permission to be considered,
and it’s possible this is not what you want either,
that said, know it's hard to write these words to you,
but it’s done just in case you feel the same as I do,
and recognizing this actions' painful risk to my heart and soul,
I am scared out of my mind, I want you to know.

I will trust you, as I have, one hundred times before,
in love with all that's you, as my soul speaks to yours.
And yes, I have been an emotional car wreck inside,
somewhat like an out of control roller coaster ride.

So, I apologize for the embarrassment that’s been instigated,
with this love I feel; an honesty between souls connected.
