It's Supper Time Honey w/Bob Seger’s “Living inside My Heart Now” #Musicvideo #Cooking #DianaMarySharpton

Strange to see how a good dinner and feasting reconciles everybody. ~ Samuel Pepys

I am somewhat of an unconventional, adventurous person when I cook and in life. After all that is my point. I like to cook dishes that are tasty and quick. My time is limited like everyone else in the world. In addition, I like to mix traditional American dishes with favorite Mexican dishes from my homeland. I personally believe it works well together.

Today I am going to start off with home-made guacamole and regular brand corn chips. The main course is Whiskey Black Pepper marinated pork spare ribs (“Kroger’s brand”), black bean soup, Mexican rice and lightly buttered Parmesan zucchini. I am going to include a simple cucumber salad with my favorite drink; “Bare foot’s” Pink Champagne. There will be a simple pumpkin cheesecake desert by “The Father’s Table”. The cheesecake is brilliant and to die for by the way. So, here we go folks!

Background music will be by the brilliant musician from Lincoln Park, Michigan, Bob Seger’sLiving inside My Heart Now”. The video was upload on YouTube May 7, 2008 by Gsxrjo. Bob Segar’s music genre is considered rock, heartland rock, roots rock, rock and roll, pop rock, country rock, hard rock, blue-eyed soul.

I am using ingredients that are listed below. My pictures are based off of small portions. So, I don’t screw up my diet program LOL!

Whiskey Black Pepper marinated pork spare ribs (Kroger brand)
Cooking Directions:
Remove ribs from package:
§  Pre-heat oven to 335°F to 350°F. Transfer ribs to a foil lined, shallow pan and loosely tent ribs with another piece of foil over top.
§  Place ribs in pre-heated oven and cook for 2 to 2 1/2 hours. For a more dried appearance, the top foil can be removed for the last 20 minutes of cooking.

Ingredients: A pack (four to five ribs) the Kroger brand of Whiskey Black Pepper marinated pork spare ribs. Add garlic pepper spice, black pepper ground and lemon pepper all of which are by McCormick.

Black Bean Soup
Like potatoes are a staple in some house-holds, black Bean Soup is a tradition in my home for Sunday dinners or when I feel like eating some food from my homeland. Use a medium pot adding a portion of ingredients and cooked over medium high burner for at least 2 hours until the bean is soft. Keep adding water as necessary.

1 ½   Cups dried black beans (10 oz.), picked over and rinsed

After an hour and half:
1       Small red onion, cut into 1/4-inch dice (3/4 cup)
½      Teaspoon chopped garlic
½      Teaspoon finely chopped (seedless) fresh jalapeno
¼      Teaspoon chili pepper
3       Chicken bouillon cubes
¾      Teaspoon black pepper
5       Tablespoon chopped fresh cilantro
A dash of salt

Mexican Rice
First you need to brown the long grain rice until it starts to puff like popcorn. Long grain rice is the secret. It is important that you stir constantly. Once browned, drain off the grease, adding the following ingredients and cook on medium heat until the water (three fingers above the rice) has almost evaporated. It is important you do not add to much water and over cooker the rice. Then turn off the heat and cover leaving the pan on the warm burner for about 15 – 20 minutes.

3       Fingers of water above the rice
1       Can of ROTEL tomatoes
½      Medium red onion chopped
½      Teaspoon finely chopped (seedless) fresh jalapeno
2       Cups long grain white rice
1       Cup canola oil
1       Minced garlic clove
3       Chicken bouillon cubes
¼      Cup fresh cilantro, minced
A dash of salt and black pepper

First you need to purchase about five to six fresh zucchinis, cut the ends off and slice across. Then place in a pot of boiling water. I always add ground black pepper, garlic and a dash of salt; leaving them in for about 4 to 5 minutes tops, drain, cover and let sit. At this point add a tab of light butter and fresh grated Parmesan cheese.

Cucumber Salad
First you need to purchase about two large cucumbers, one green bell pepper, one orange bell pepper, two tomatoes and 2 limes. Peal the skin off the cucumber and remove the seeds from the bell peppers. Slice all the ingredients and place in a large container. Add the lime juice, a dash of salt, ground pepper and garlic. Finally use only a 2 tablespoons of any Italian clear dressing. Toss and it is ready!

I don’t spend a lot of time with the traditional steps in cooking because with these dishes it really does not matter, the taste is amazing and honestly time is important to me. BTW I took out the good China LMAO....

Oh! The guacamole is made with three fresh avocadoes smashed up (I always use a molcajete). Once done, stir in pica-de-gallo (chopped up tomatoes, jalapenos, red onions and cilantro) and a dash of salt and pepper. Always leave a seed or two in the guacamole to avoid losing its color.

Lady Antebellum-Can't take my eyes off you #LoveOfMyLife #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

Seduce my mind and you can have my body, find my soul and I’m yours forever.” ~ M.D. Waters, Archetype

Well schools out! Two weeks of sleeping late and doing whatever the heck I want to do, just brilliant! It’s the last of 2015 and what a year… I am sad to see it go. It was a roll-a-coaster of emotion to say the least! The exciting thing is that “do nothing, wishing Diana”, acted and stepped out of that iron box. I took one hell of a ride on the risk train/plane and would do it again and again. LOL! People need to do this more often, I highly recommend it. To hell with the noise and take a chance on your heart’s desire, your dreams. Make it happen… Now back to me… What was that amazing thing? It is a story for a different day (smile).

I pray for the health and happiness of my family and friends. To my son and is his new bride, may you share friendship, love, spirituality, passion and a life time of happy memories. To my daughter, I pray you land on your feet, find your passion and success. To my beautiful granddaughter, Teah, embrace life and seize your dreams. Do not set them aside. To my middle brother, Jim, I am praying for your health and I here for you. To the rest of my family and dear, dear, friends, know I love you all dearly and hope 2016 will be the most brilliant year in your lives.

Tonight’s song is dedicated to you Sugar and that’s all I am going to say… The music selection is titled "Lady Antebellum-Can't take my eyes off you” and yes this is truly one of my favorite groups. They are straight up country from Nashville, Tennessee.  I do love the South, its music, soul, independence, character, culture and amazing food. This includes the great state of Texas! Which by the way reminds me of another place as well… Much love to Australia!

I have added the lyrics for your reading pleasure...

"Can't Take My Eyes Off You" (3)
I know that the bridges that I've burned
Along the way
Have left me with these walls and these scars
That won't go away
And opening up has always been the hardest thing
Until you came

So lay here beside me, just hold me and don't let go
This feelin' I'm feelin' is somethin' I've never known
And I just can't take my eyes off you
And I just can't take my eyes off you

I love when you tell me that I'm pretty
[Album version:] When I just wake up
[Acoustic version:] When I just woke up
And I love how you tease me when I'm moody
[Album version:] But it's never too much
[Acoustic version:] And it's always enough
[Album version:] I'm falling fast but the truth is I'm not scared at all
[Acoustic version:] I'm falling fast and the truth is I'm not scared at all
[Album version:] You're climbin' my walls
[Acoustic version:] You broke my walls

Off you
Off you

So lay here beside me just hold me and don't let go
Oh, this feelin' I'm feelin' is somethin' I've never known
And I just can't take my eyes off you
And I just can't take my eyes off you

Shalamar - Dancin In The Sheets #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

But soon I loved her completely and wished to possess her, own her, absorb her, eat her. I wanted her in my arms and in my bed, I longed she would open her legs to me” ~ Ian McEwan, In Between the Sheets

My music selection this evening is "Shalamar - Dancin In The Sheets" a 1980’s hit.

Mainly I was feeling this song on my drive home and wanted to get it out... Every evening after a long workday, I love to listen to “80’s on 8” an FM radio station. I swear, there definitely was some HOT LOVING going on in the 80’s if music from the time period tells us the story… What do you think?

Check out the article behind this image! It is excellent...
Titled "Love Relationship as a Path to Healing" by Jeni Ambrose from her Blog - Leading-edge therapy for stress, trauma & PTSD

Shania Twain - Forever And For Always #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

It takes two to tango; one dictates the steps and the other executes them effectively. That is how a great show is made.
~ Olaotan Fawehinmi

My music selection is "Forever and for Always"(2) by the gorgeous Shania Twain. Born in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, Shania is a mega super star, singer and song writer. "Forever and for Always" a top performing single released in April 2003, is co-written and recorded by Shania and the 5th track in her Album titled "Up!".

The genre is considered Country pop and adult contemporary. The music video was published on YouTube Oct 7, 2009 by ShaniaTwainVEVO. I have listed the lyrics for your reading pleasure.

"Forever and for Always"(3)
In your arms I can still feel the way you
Want me when you hold me
I can still hear the words you whispered
When you told me
I can stay right here forever in your arms

And there ain't no way
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way
And there ain't not how
I'll never see that day

Cause I'm keeping you
Forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Want to wake up every
Morning to your sweet face, always
Mm, baby

In your heart I can still hear
A beat for every time you kiss me
And when we're apart,
I know how much you miss me
I can feel your love for me in your heart

And there ain't no way
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't now way
And there ain't no how
I'll never see that day

Cause I'm keeping you
Forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Want to wake up every
Morning to your sweet face, always

In your eyes (I can still see The look of the one)
I can still see The look of the one who really loves me (I can still feel the way that you want)
The one who wouldn't put anything
Else in the world above me (I can still see love for me)
I can Still see love for me in your eyes (I still see the love)

And there ain't no way
I'm lettin' you go now
And there ain't no way
And there ain't no how
I'll never see that day

Cause I'm keeping you
Forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Want to wake up every
Morning to your sweet face, always

I'm keeping you
Forever and for always
We will be together all of our days
Want to wake up every
Morning to your sweet face,

I'm keeping you forever and for always
I'm keeping you forever
Yes I'm keeping baby
Forever, in your arms

I mainly was feeling this song and wanted to get it out... Have a blessed work week and thank you for your continued support.

Love and Peace always ~D

Billy Joel - Just the Way You Are #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

It's okay to love something a little too much, as long as it's real to you.
~ Gerard Way

I have not been around much because of my work schedule. It was bound to happen, new boss, new responsibilities and so, there you go. I get up at 4:30 am and start running and don’t get home until after 6:00 pm. The good news is that my boss is smart, competent and we get along great. After three years with this organization, I can finally say I am happy with who I work for and how I make my living. Miracles do happen, so watch out.

Even with all these wonderful things happening for my career, I feel melancholy like something is still out of place or balance in my life. Maybe I want it so bad that if a stormy cloud (and I have had a couple lately) were to sprinkle “Two” drops of water, I would fall apart instantly.

What a shame about Diana! LOL! I have faith not patients it is going to be okay, trust me.

My son and his girlfriend of five/six years are finally tying the knot. I envy their youth and impetuous nature/desire to take risks concerning love and life. I pray they are blessed in this new union with happiness, health and many grandbabies lol!

The song that I am going to feature this evening titled “Just the Way You Are” and sung by the brilliant musician Billy Joel and his genre is Rock and Roll. The video was published on Jul 30, 2013 and uploading on YouTube by billyjoelVEVO. I listed the lyrics below because they are wonderful as well… I am a firm believer that you need to love a person as they are... bottom line.

Just the Way You Are
Don't go changing to try and please me
You never let me down before
Don't imagine you're too familiar
And I don't see you anymore

I wouldn't leave you in times of trouble
We never could have come this far
I took the good times; I'll take the bad times
I'll take you just the way you are

Don't go trying some new fashion
Don't change the color of your hair
You always have my unspoken passion
Although I might not seem to care

I don't want clever conversation
I never want to work that hard
I just want someone that I can talk to
I want you just the way you are

I need to know that you will always be
The same old someone that I knew
What will it take till you believe in me
The way that I believe in you?

I said I love you and that's forever
And this I promise from the heart
I could not love you any better
I love you just the way you are

Peace and Love always ~ D
I need you Sugar in my life~ Please unconditionally forgive me as I will unconditionally forgive you…Let’s make this a standing rule… I love you so much…

"Thunderstruck" #POETRY #LOVE #DANCINGINTHEBACKYARD W/Christina Perri - A Thousand Years #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

Photograph by Lynda Smith - National Geographic
“It happened one day, about noon, going towards my boat; I was exceedingly surprised with the print of a man's naked foot on the shore, which was very plain to be seen in the sand. I stood like one thunderstruck, or as if I had seen an apparition”. Daniel Defoe/Robinson Crusoe.

Thunderstruck; it’s my impression,
feelings exposed yet unprotected,
with a fog of confusion amid dreamy illusion,
a magical yet fascinating intrusion.

And we dance…
to music beating between stars and time,
in the light of a moon where waves collide,
and if I were to die tomorrow and you today,
we’ll dance these moments in our clubfoot sway.

Even though we waited...
a thousand years, to find only a few more,
it’s your heart releasing a timid soul; letting love soar,
gaining strength, in moments, from an ill gotten sword,
and we dance to torn hearts; unlocking that door.

"Sugar" #POETRY #PASSION #LOVE w/Sugarland Express "Tonight" #MUSICVIDEO #DianaMarySharpton

I want
To do with you what spring does with the cherry trees.” ~ Pablo Neruda

An argument erupts; so, let me say "okay I see"
After all, you cannot handle a woman like me!
And when I arrived home, there you stand
Masculine, sexy as hell, naked; my loving man

Sugar, I’m not going to play with you tonight
As you pull me close; holding me ever so tight
And your lips gently brush the softness of mine
I feel you, rock hard; as shivers quiver up my spine

I will not resist or fight it, I’m in on this ride
As you slowly, seduce body, soul, and mind
Pulling me to bed, I know what you’re trying to do
Demonstrate tenderly on who can handle whom

And it’s the essence on why I’m in love with you
As a spat evaporates and sweat beads up on two
Baby, at the end of the day, I stand corrected
Manage me anytime! I adore all of this affection

I understand the quote and subsequently was inspired to write the above poem. It is all about that heat! No recommendations... smile.

It is that time again on a Monday evening, listening to music, sipping a little wine and thinking about everything. I feel real good, right about now.

That said, the song tonight, it is a favorite and a classic especially on this particular Monday night. It is sung by the amazing Sugarland Express and is titled “Tonight”… Come on sugar, I wrote you a poem, so look up the lyrics... It's all about love or passion or lust or sex... or all the above.

This song is straight up a country soul genre. Remember, you are welcome to join my blog at and my website, don’t be shy. Oh FYI! I have added those Pinterest albums  back just in case you are interested and finally... music is a language and these are my thoughts tonight...

I hope you like this selection and have a blessed evening or morning. Thank you for your continued support.

"L'Anima Vola/The Soul Flies" by the Beautiful Elisa #MUSICVIDEO #DianaMarySharpton

"Love recognizes no barriers. It jumps hurdles, leaps fences, penetrates walls to arrive at its destination full of hope." ~Maya Angelou

Elisa Toffoli is an Italian singer-songwriter that performs under the stage name of Elisa. I was introduced to her music by one of my friends on Google Plus and have fallen in love with her beauty, sensuality, and amazing voice. Elisa, born in Monfalcone, Italy, is famous for writing and recording music in English.

Her genre is considered pop and I’m posting one of her Italian songs because it is so beautiful. The lyrics translated into English has been listed below and titled “The Soul Flies” (2). The song featured tonight is titled "L'Anima Vola"(3) and corresponding video, simple however brilliantly produced, was uploaded on YOUTUBE, Sep 15, 2013 by elisatoffoli.

The Soul Flies
The soul flies
It just needs some fresh air
If you look into my eyes
Search for my heart
Don't get lost in its reflections

Don't buy me anything
I am gonna smile if you'll notice me in the crowd
Yes, it is important that
I'll be for you in any case and anywhere
The one you have known forever

A kiss is like the wind
When it slowly blows and yet it moves everything
And a strong soul that can be on its own
When it looks for you it is just because it still wants you
And if it looks for you it is just because

The soul dares
It gets lost
And then finds itself again
And look how it dances
Whenever it knows you are there watching

Don’t bring me anything
As long as I'll know i can stop an instant with you
If I can make it
Then I'll be able to recognize you through a thousand storms

A kiss is like the wind
When it slowly blows and yet it moves everything
A strong soul who is not afraid
When it looks for you it is just because it still wants you
When it looks for you it is just because it still wants you
And if it looks for you it is just because...

The soul flies
Doesn't get lost
The soul flies
Doesn't hide
The soul flies
What does it need?
The soul flies
Doesn't fade away

Thank you for your continued support. I pray you are having a blessed evening or morning.

Peace and Love Always Diana
In dedication to you.... Sugar

Luke Bryan - Strip It Down #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.”
~ Leo Buscaglia

There are those I know and see almost every day. Some are filled with hate and others are filled with pain. They live on the edge of life which they would never admit to and I say this because they are polar opposites, yet exactly the same, lost in self-delusion. Everything we experience, everyone we meet be it worthy, immoral or apathetic; they all affect our journey. I say this because today, these two extremes sent me home with an anxiety attack.

One wanting to be saved and I am barely keeping my head above water. The other wanting to drown me because I will not be controlled.

Understand, my life is filled with imperfections; however there are boundaries we all need to live by and Booker T. Washington said it best “Success is not measured by the position one has reached in life, rather by the obstacles one overcomes while trying to succeed”.

My rules: I will not flourish at the expense of others, I will love and believe in myself, my family and friends. I also will always treat others as I wish to be treated and  I will always be sexy, positive and love life!

I think I need hope, a love song and glass of wine this evening. The song that I am going to feature is titled “Strip It Down” and it’s sung by the brilliant and talented Luke Bryan. Oh yes, I feeling this song tonight!!

Luke Bryan born in Georgia on July 17, 1976 and is an amazing Country singer. This video was uploaded on Oct 8, 2015 by LukeBryanVEVO.

Lee Marvin “Wand'rin' Star” #Musicvideo #DianaMarySharpton

Nights are long when it's cold and you're waiting for a train.”
~ Jean-Marie G. Le Cl├ęzio, Wandering Star

I drove to Coffee, Texas which is on the edge of Lake Palestine… It was brilliant and I know I will be back to catch a sunset, soon.

The song that I am going to feature this evening is titled “Wand'rin' Star” and it’s sung by the brilliant and talented Lee Marvin. Oh yes, I feeling this song tonight!!

Lee Marvin was an American film and television actor born in New York City on February 19, 1924. He has a deep, distinctive voice, white hair and was a amazing actor/singer. I never knew he sang. He passed away in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 63.

"Wand'rin' Star" was a number one single in the UK and Ireland for Lee Marvin for three weeks in March 1970. What a brilliant song and I would suspect that genre is folk. This video was uploaded on Feb 9, 2008 by Sam Wghtman.
