“Confront the dark parts of yourself, and work to banish them with illumination and forgiveness. Your willingness to wrestle with your demons will cause your angels to sing.”
~ August Wilson
I was walking in a straight line going towards a cliff. No one could tell me where to go, what was right or wrong, how to feel because I knew my direction, where I was going, who I was, I knew my soul and to hell with everyone else! Stubborn, self-righteous, egotistical and completely wrong that is right, that was me. “Was” being the important word. I truly believe that the path to heaven is right through the middle of hell! Maybe some of us get lost and stay there but it is too HOT for me.
On a side bar, there were people that entered my life today, all day long and were kind and it felt good to be around them. There was also that demon FEAR trying to swallow me whole but I reconciled that the next step would not be over the cliff just yet and I didn’t need to be saved. I am amazed at humanity and the decency some people exhume.
That said, on my way home I heard a little bit of heaven and it brought a smile to my face. Music can encourage tears, a smile and ultimately the renewal of one’s spirit.
The song is titled “Toes” and sung by Zac Brown Band. The video was published on Jul 9, 2009 by Zac Brown Band. Remember music is a language and these are my thoughts tonight...
