“Nights are long when it's cold and you're waiting for a train.”
~ Jean-Marie G. Le Clézio, Wandering Star
I drove to Coffee, Texas which is on the edge of Lake Palestine… It was brilliant and I know I will be back to catch a sunset, soon.
The song that I am going to feature this evening is titled “Wand'rin' Star” and it’s sung by the brilliant and talented Lee Marvin. Oh yes, I feeling this song tonight!!
Lee Marvin was an American film and television actor born in New York City on February 19, 1924. He has a deep, distinctive voice, white hair and was a amazing actor/singer. I never knew he sang. He passed away in Tucson, Arizona at the age of 63.
"Wand'rin' Star" was a number one single in the UK and Ireland for Lee Marvin for three weeks in March 1970. What a brilliant song and I would suspect that genre is folk. This video was uploaded on Feb 9, 2008 by Sam Wghtman.
