"My Fathers' Eyes" by Eric Clapton #Musicvideo #DianaMarySharpton

Alexander Steven Sharpton (1)
I believe that what we become depends on what our fathers teach us at odd moments, when they aren't trying to teach us. We are formed by little scraps of wisdom.”

― Umberto Eco

I am around the corner and in the driver’s seat again, recovering from a bad case of the flu. There are a lot of folks that wished me well and I am going to name as many as I can remember at this time. Please know, at the end of the day, I have nothing but love for all the people in my life and wish you blessings, love, safety, health and happiness.

So, without further ado let me thank you for all the love, concern and well wishes... I am mending slowly... Thank you all again for making my life so special and supporting everything “Diana Mary”.

Music is huge aspect in my life, love and character. I pride myself with the fact that I can listen and enjoy all types of music genre with a tiniest caveat and that is some I favor a little more than others “smile”. When life challenges me, as it has lately, I know the song that will make me feel right, put me back on track and in balance. It’s not just the singer’s voice and trill, the musical instruments or tune but the poetry, the words and rhyme, are the driving forces that mesmerizes this girls heart and soul. My selection today is a reflection of this thoughtful process. The man in the picture is Alexander Steven Sharpton, Jr. and the first love of my life.

Eric Clapton, an Englishman, a singer, songwriter and three-time inductee into the “Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” and just all around remarkable musician, is the artist I picked for this evening’s music post. His album “Pilgrim”, release on March 9, 1998, is beyond amazing; it is absolutely a cure to anything and everything that may be ailing your body, mine and soul. Remember it’s not just the music, it’s the words, so I am also adding the lyrics to the featured song titled “My Father’s Eyes”(2). The video was uploaded on YouTube, Apr 17, 2010 by Vittorio G.

My hopes are that you find this music enjoyable and that you are having the best Friday, afternoon or morning possible! Kisses and Hugs!!!

My Father’s Eyes
Sailing down behind the sun,
Waiting for my prince to come.
 Praying for the healing rain
 To restore my soul again.

Just a toe rag on the run.
 How did I get here?
 What have I done?
When will all my hopes arise?
 How will I know him?
When I look in my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.
When I look in my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.

Then the light begins to shine
And I hear those ancient lullabies.
And as I watch this seedling grow,
Feel my heart start to overflow.

Where do I find the words to say?
 How do I teach him?
 What do we play?
 Bit by bit, I've realized
 That's when I need them,
 That's when I need my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.
 That's when I need my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.

Then the jagged edge appears
Through the distant clouds of tears.
 I'm like a bridge that was washed away;
My foundations were made of clay.

As my soul slides down to die.
 How could I lose him?
 What did I try?
 Bit by bit, I've realized
 That he was here with me;
I looked into my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.
I looked into my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.

My father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.
I looked into my father's eyes.
 My father's eyes.

As Always Love and Peace Diana
