|Richard Clayerman (1)|
Introduction:“She is free in her wildness, she is a wanderess, a drop of free water. She knows nothing of borders and cares nothing for rules or customs. 'Time' for her isn’t something to fight against. Her life flows clean, with passion, like fresh water.”
― Roman Payne
I need a glass of some good wine (Clos du Bois Chardonnay 2012) and a magnificently talented French pianist to set my head straight. The artist I am talking about has the ability to bring the piano to life, sink sound into your mind and take you on that journey through space and time. Okay, that is a little bit of the wine speaking but really, Richard Clayerman is unquestionably the most passionate pianist I have ever had the pleasure of hearing.
The video I am going to present is a French instrumental titled “Ballade pour Adeline” (2). Composed in 1976 by Paul de Senneville and Olivier Toussaint as a tribute to Paul de Senneville's his newborn daughter, Adeline. The first recording was by Richard Clayderman and world-wide sales now have reached 22 million copies in 38 countries. It remains Clayderman's signature hit and is stunningly gently and passionate at the same time. This music makes you want to write in French!
C'est magnifique comme la rupture de l'aube après une pluie de printemps lourd et glorieux comme la perspective de votre enfant en train de naître. Comme vous pouvez le voir la musique de cet homme m'excite juste (i.e. English version "It’s magnificent like the break of dawn after a heavy spring rain, glorious like the prospect of your child being born and passionate as the gentle touch from your lover. As you can see this man’s brilliant musical talent thrills me").
This was fun for me and it helped expunge myself from the last couple of post.
