Introduction
~ Mary Balogh, Simply Perfect
It has been a empowering Thursday because in my heart and soul I
know I have done the right thing for those that I dearly love. I am eternally
grateful to wonderful parents that taught me to believe in myself, my
abilities, humanity, humility and kindness, nothing else really matters.
This post was written a while back in contribution to a friends blog; however I want to list it in my blog as well, so here we go. On a
Saturday, no less, I took a drive up 75 to the Red River. Yes, this drive, my
Ipod and a cup of coffee are favorites. Today, I got a different view point,
shhhhh, it was from a private RVP park on the Oklahoma side. I have tried many
times to get in without success. Luckily, a lovely couple from the great State
of Louisiana invited me in as a guest. What a thrill!! The picture I was able
to capture reminded me of the music chosen for this post. I love this place...
can you tell!
Anyway, it’s always about some good solid rock and roll. I have
chosen a group that was hot during the early 70’s called Creedence
Clearwater Revival and the featured song is titled "Proud
Mary - Rollin' on a River". Yep that’s me… proud Mary! There I
said it and used my middle name Mary… LMAO.
I wonder why my parent could not have thought of a better name and
trust me I understand the logic as told to me. According to legend, they were
desperately trying to stay away from my grandmother’s name, Deonichia. I don’t
know which one is worse. Whoosh!!! It is all good in the long run…right?… Diana
Mary Isabel Sharpton de Pigott…. the Mexican naming convention…smile! One good
thing in America is that all the extra names (confirmation & mother’s
maiden) are not required.

Left a good job in the city,
Workin' for the man ev'ry night and day,
And I never lost one minute of sleepin',
Worryin' 'bout the way things might have been.
Big wheel keep on turnin',
Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Cleaned a lot of plates in Memphis,
Pumped a lot of 'pane down in New Orleans,
But I never saw the good side of the city,
'Til I hitched a ride on a river boat queen.
Big wheel keep on turnin',
Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
If you come down to the river,
Bet you gonna find some people who live.
You don't have to worry 'cause you have no money,
People on the river are happy to give.
Big wheel keep on turnin',
Proud Mary keep on burnin',
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Rollin', rollin', rollin' on the river.
Thank you for your continued support. I pray you are having a blessed evening or morning.
Peace and Love Always Diana
On my way to that river
