Introduction:

Rose of Sharon by Diana MarySharpton  (c) All Rights Reserved 2018

Don't let the expectations and opinions of other people affect your decisions. It's your life, not theirs. Do what matters most to you; do what makes you feel alive and happy. Don't let the expectations and ideas of others limit who you are. If you let others tell you who you are, you are living their reality — not yours. There is more to life than pleasing people. There is much more to life than following others' prescribed path. There is so much more to life than what you experience right now. You need to decide who you are for yourself. Become a whole being. Adventure.”

― Roy T. Bennett

The song being featured this evening is titled "Rose of Sharon"(2). Sung by a brilliant and talented British group, Mumford & Sons. This song is the eighth track in their recently release (i.e. November  16, 2018) fourth albumn titled Delta. The songs introduce elements of electronica, rap and jazz with a tender lyric as with this song. The video is magical and is a collaboration with National Geographic. I recommend a few minutes of your  time to check it out.

"Rose of Sharon" is actually a name used when referring to common flowers like the Hibiscus for one. It does not reference an actual rose. It also has a paradoxical symbolism of purity and passion (i.e. heavenly perfection and earthly passion; virginity and fertility; death and life). The rose is the flower of the goddess Venus but also the blood of Adonis.

The video was published by Mumford & Sons on Dec 3, 2018.

Belief can be manipulated. Only knowledge is dangerous.” ― Frank Herbert

I have listed the lyrics to the song below for your reading pleasure.

"Rose Of Sharon(3)

Fold your hair behind your ears
Roll your questions across the floor
I know you been here for years
But at least we been here before
My mind finds peace in the shade of your attention
But gets tangled by the night
I didn't know what I was thinking
But I know we'll be alright

And I will surround you
With a love too deep for words
Hold you from the world and its curse
So long as I have breath in my lungs
Long as there's a song to be sung
I will be yours and you will be mine
Ever our lives entwined
My rose of Sharon
My rose of Sharon

Come crashing in like a wildfire, I'm left in awe of you
Every time I close the door, I'm left wanting more of you
I wish I had some grand sense of occasion
But I'll just smile and turn away
I hope you know by now
I don't know another way

When it's said and done
I'm yours forever
Like I said, I'm done
I'm yours forever

I will surround you
With a love too deep for words
Hold you from the world and its curse
So long as I have breath in my lungs
Long as there's a song to be sung
I will be yours and you will be mine
Ever our lives entwined
My rose of Sharon
My rose of Sharon

With a love too deep for words
I'm yours forever
With a love too deep for words
I'm yours forever
With a love too deep for words
I'm yours forever
With a love too deep for words
I'm yours forever

My words, my thoughts, my language...

Peace as always
Diana

Winter is here, all I can think about is this spring. Loving the thought of you, my love... always
