"Sweet Thing" By #VanMorrison #Yes #indeed #MusicVideo #DianaMarySharpton #LovingThisMusic #AndU

“Hooked on You and this music... Bottom line!”

The song being featured is titled “Sweet Thing(2), and it was written and sung by Van Morrison. It is also the 3rd track on his 2nd albumn title "Astral Weeks" released in November 1968. His genre is  Celtic, folk rock, soft rock.

Van Morrison is a brilliant song writer and he is one of my musical favorites. Originally, he is from Northern Ireland and I would say he has got that "Blue-Eyed Soul". Check him out!

Why did I pick this song? Read the words while listening to his rendition. What is he saying? What is in your heart?

This is one of Morrison's most romantic songs. It finds the Irish singer exulting over his love, who he gives the name "Sweet Thing," which is much more demonstrative than the typical "Sweetie." The music builds as the singer gets more and more excited about his love, and the imagery becomes more intense. By the end of the song, the string section has kicked in and Van's girl has "Champagne Eyes" and a "Saint-Like Smile."

The video was published on YouTube - Filmed live at the Hollywood Bowl, LA, November 2008 - VanMorrison

I have listed the lyrics below for your reading pleasure.

"Sweet Thing"(3)
Van Morrison

And I will stroll the merry way
And jump the hedges first
And I will drink the clear
Clean water for to quench my thirst
And I shall watch the ferry-boats
And they'll get high
On a bluer ocean
Against tomorrow's sky
And I will never grow so old again
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing
And I shall drive my chariot
Down your streets and cry
Hey, it's me, I'm dynamite
And I don't know why'
And you shall take me strongly
In your arms again
And I will not remember
That I even felt the pain.
We shall walk and talk
In gardens all misty and wet with rain
And I will never, never, never
Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
My, my, my, my, my sweet thing
And I will raise my hand up
Into the night time sky
And count the stars
That's shining in your eye
Just to dig it all an' not to wonder
That's just fine
And I'll be satisfied
Not to read in between the lines
And I will walk and talk
In gardens all wet with rain
And I will never, ever, ever, ever
Grow so old again.
Oh sweet thing, sweet thing
Sugar-baby with your champagne eyes
And your saint-like smile
